Weekend Getaway Spending

by Forest on March 23, 2009

Here’s the breakdown for the cost from my weekend getaway to Wisconsin:

Friday:  On the way up, we stopped at Arby’s and I tried the new roast burger.  It was just okay.  The combo cost me $5.97.  While we were eating, we all settled up with the girl who paid for the whole trip.  I had previously given her $25 towards the trip and she said I owed her $35 more…so I paid her that.

After dinner, we drove for another hour or so and finally arrived at the cabin.  It was really cool.  It’s in the middle of the woods and there was still a bit of snow on the ground, but temps were supposed to be in the 50s on Saturday, so we figured it would all melt off.  We stayed up late playing games and having fun.

On Saturday, we slept in.  Then made some breakfast and people sort of did their own things.  The boys went out in the woods, just hiking around and goofing off.  When we came back from the woods we decided to all take a walk down to the lake.  The weather was gorgeous and the snow was all melting off.

We spent the rest of the afternoon lazing around just doing whatever.  On Saturday night we headed into town for dinner.  I ended up paying for everyone.  That was $120.  Two of my friends gave me some money to put towards it so the real cost to me was only about $90.

Once Sunday rolled around it was time to head home.  Sunday was a no spend day!

Weekends like this are always fun, but of course, when you have that many people together for that amount of time and there’s really no escape, some drama and tension is bound to come up.  And it did.  But we all survived and we had fun. We’ll probably do it again next year.
