I just put a $500 deposit down on a photo booth that we are renting for the wedding reception.
We’re pretty excited about this!
The total cost is going to be $1195. Here’s how that breaks down:
- $1095 for a three-hour rental of the photo booth
- $100 add on for the wedding package (guest book, 100 thank you note postcards)
- Additional hours would be $100 each
We are planning on running the photobooth for a few hours after dinner at the reception. The booth prints out two identical strips of photos. The guests will cut off one strip and add it to our guest book and they can write us a little message. We think this will be a fun way to do the guest book instead of the traditional names and addresses, etc.
And it won’t just be our guest book; the photos that the guests get to take with them will also take the place of any wedding favors. It’s just a fun little memento.
I think our guests will be able to have a lot fun with this! I know I’ve been to a couple of weddings that had a photo booth and everyone seemed to really love it. Hope that’s the same for our wedding.
So I’ve got $500 down and the remaining balance is due two weeks prior to the big day.
As the day gets closer and closer, we’re finally having to start paying for things. I’ve created a google doc for Bird and I to track what we are spending on this wedding so we can do our best to stay within (or under!) budget.

The photobooth sounds fun…and expensive!
It’s a little bit of a splurge, but one we were planning for. To compensate, we went with a middle of the road photograph rather than the most expensive one we could find.
But yes, like most wedding things, it’s expensive.
I SO want a photobooth too! It’s $1400 out here and we’re still trying to see if it’s in our budget but I know you guys will love it!
Great post! Just wanted to let you know you have a new subscriber- me!
