I’m trying to leave work early this afternoon so I can start heading up north. I’m going to my cabin for a short weekend of fishing. I’ll be joining my dad and brother who have been up there since Wednesday. I am trying to save all my PTO for my honeymoon in September, so I decided to work all week and then head up north this evening. But I will have to hurry back for my premarriage class on Sunday evening.
So I’m hoping that I can leave early today (aiming for 3, but we’ll see), drive the four to five hours it takes to get up there and still get some good fishing in tonight. Then I will fish all day tomorrow and a little bit on Sunday morning. Should probably take dad out for Father’s Day lunch too. Then I will turnaround and head home. It’s kind of a pain because gas prices are going up and it’s a ton of driving for the amount of time I’ll be there, but stil totally worth it (especially if the fish comply).
Just wanted you to know that I won’t be around this weekend (not that anyone really reads blogs over the weekend.)
