I got to the bookstore all geared up to find a ton of good books and make millions of dollars! After scanning only two shelves of books, my scanner started blinking the red light of death. It was then when I realized that even though I made sure to plug it into the charger last night….I didn’t make sure that the charger was plugged in. Upon returning home tonight with only 7 books and most of them worth only a few dollars, I confirmed that indeed my charger was not plugged in to the wall. Sad.
The other sad part of the night was when I got to my parent’s house and found out that they had taken everything and I mean everything, out of my childhood bedroom to have it repainted and to put in a new floor. Gone were all my decorations….all the pictures of animals I had cut out from hunting and fishing magazines throughout my childhood. I had an awesome room! But now it’s gone! I hope they at least remembered to take some pictures of the room, I forgot to ask my mom if they did. I’m telling you, my room was awesome. If they did take pics, maybe I’ll post ‘em here. You’ll laugh.
Oh well, the best part of the night was catching my mom up on all the wedding stuff. It was also Pie Rush Wednesday at Baker’s Square so we got some free pie. Yum. Plus, mom bought dinner so today was a no spend day (except for the books but they don’t count because that money comes from the book account).
No word from Bird yet (I’m expecting a call) tonight about how the fitting went. She’s probably still with her mom and will call me as she drives back home.

So you have a scanner that tells you the average price of books on Amazon or something? That sounds pretty cool! Can you give more details about that? I’ve been selling books to make extra cash, but I’ve just been cleaning out my basement!
Hey Calgirl! Thanks for the comment. I have a barcode scanner/PDA system which displays Amazon’s lowest price. If the book is for sale for more than that, I’ll buy it and then resell it. It’s a pretty slick deal! The PDA and scanner are initially kind of pricey and the scouting program cost a monthly fee, but in my experience, if you’re committed to it…you can easily make your money back and thensome. It’s kind of a fun hobby for me, but it also can be a lot of work. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to quit my day job to buy and sell used books, but a little bit of extra income never hurt anyone. If you have any more questions, shoot me an email.
