This afternoon, one of my roommates (T) and I went to visit a friend that lives about an hour away. T did the driving, so I took the opportunity to take in the gorgeous day. It was a bright sunny day and we were driving through the countryside where all the trees and fields are finally turning green. It finally feels like Spring up here.
Anyway, because T drove, we agreed that I’d pay him $10 for gas.
We arrived in town and ended up going out for dinner to catch up with our friend. We chose to sit out on a patio to enjoy the weather, but as soon as we sat down, the sun hid behind some clouds, the wind picked up and before long we were freezing. I was a little cranked out tonight for no good reason, but we still managed to have some really good conversation. My sandwich and fries cost me $10.
After dinner, we drove by a movie theater but the only thing I wanted to see was Narnia and they didn’t want to. We ended up just driving around town–listening to music and chatting. Not the most frugal idea with gas prices as they are, but our friend was doing the driving and it was her choice.
Even though I felt exhausted and a little cranky, it turned out to be a decent evening. We don’t get to see this friend all that much, maybe once a month, so it was nice to get caught up on her life and to catch her up on ours.
Financially, it cost me $20, which isn’t terrible for a night out.
